Betty Acquah
Betty Acquah is a contemporary Ghanaian painter celebrated for vibrant, rhythmically patterned compositions that focus on Ghanaian women, dancers, and everyday life. Her richly layered works employ bold color, repeated marks, and dotted linear motifs to evoke movement, energy, and communal strength; figures often appear as luminous, partially-abstracted silhouettes.Acquah’s paintings are widely exhibited and are frequently described as honoring women as the “unsung heroines” of the Ghanaian Republic.
