Christian Walker
Christian Walker (1953–2003) was an influential American photographer and writer whose experimental images explored queer sexualities, race, public space, and representation. Walker’s practice spanned candid documentary work and staged series (notably the powerful Miscegenation series), frequently engaging tabooed or marginalized subjects with intimacy and political urgency. His work has been the subject of important recent retrospectives, reasserting his significance to queer Black visual culture and photographic theory.
